Trail Construction and Maintenance

KHTA Trail Construction and Maintenancetrail-design-and-building2
One of the responsibilities taken on by long-distance trail managing organisations such as the KHTA is building new segments or rehabilitating old ones. This work takes skill and experience. It’s best learned by participating with trained crews. The broad aims and objectives are pretty obvious, and many of the techniques also seem obvious. But as with most things, there is usually more to the work than meets the eye. Three KHTA pamphlets will help you see the broader outlines, and also the finer details, of the work to be done. As usual, anything can be improved.

TRAIL BUILDING AND MAINTENACE WORKSHOPS are held from time to time and are announced when they are available..  We try to do this on an annual basis.
